Austrian premiere: With the Baking Forum the ÖBA/ÖKONDA-diegenuss conjures up
a unique and live bakery atmosphere. For the first time the most innovative and
latest models of the most renowned machine manufacturers are exhibited and put
into operation directly at the fair. Under the motto “hands-on” the trade
visitors may get to know state-of-the-art equipment in action and at first hand.
A broad range of products is presented by the leading producers with their most
innovative models. Amongst other things rotary rack ovens, fully automatic
proofing units, front baking ovens, kneading machines and liquid ice machines
rank among the numerous machinery highlights. In cooperation with leading
experts of machinery producers and the competent bakery masters of the bakery
improver manufacturers TOP products will be baked live in the Baking Forum. All
production steps from the production to the finished product may be viewed. New
incentives and ideas to increase the quality and turnover of traditional
craftsmanship may be generated from practice-oriented demonstrations. The Baking
Forum is an open, freely accessible experiential platform with a daily varying
demonstration programme. The live baking event is expertly presented by Mr
Herbert Dejmek.

UNDER THE MOTTO “PRIMAVERA – ICE CREAM CREATIONS FOR SPRING”
ON MONDAY 26 APRIL AND TUESDAY 27 APRIL 2010
Austria is considered as a genuine paradise of ice cream. This is
clearly demonstrated by the latest statistical figures: with more than 8
litres of ice cream per year the Austrians consume more ice cream than
the Italians and Austria’s density of ice cream parlours is the highest
of Europe.
Take a chance to prove with your public presentation that the Austrian
ice cream creations are a genuine EXPERIENCE OF PLEASURE and offer us a
first taste of the coming ice cream season.

4th International Truffle Competition
The
Federal Guild of Confectioners is holding the 4th Truffle Competition
under the motto “Sweet Enjoyment” to mark the “ÖBA/ÖKONDA -diegenuss”
trade fair that is taking place in Wels from 14-16 April 2010. The
Institute of Cereal Processing has been entrusted with responsibility
for organising the event. The aim of the competition is to compare the
quality of handmade chocolate truffles and pralines from all over
Europe. A special marketing prize is also awarded for the positioning of
the product in terms of flavour and the professional packaging of house
specialities. The award ceremony and the presentation of the winning
products will take place at the ÖBA/ÖKONDA-diegenuss fair on 26 April
2010 and will also include a documentary about the product competition.
The competition offers Austrian and foreign confectioners a good
opportunity to show off the high quality and stylish packaging of their
products to an international audience.
It also gives the individual confectioners the chance to display and
capitalise on the awards given to their pralines and house specialities
until the next truffle competition. The Federal Guild of Confectioners
therefore invites all European confectioners to take part in this major
truffle competition.
In the special category “Chocolate Sculpture Showpiece” chocolatiers can
also show off their artistic skills. The chocolate sculptures will be
exhibited and judged in an area of the fair specially set aside for this
purpose.

15th International Bread Competition
On
the occasion of the “ÖBA/ÖKONDA-diegenuss” trade fair
in Wels from 14-16 April 2010 the Federal Guild of Bakers is holding the
15th International Bread Competition. The Institute of Cereal Processing

of the competition is to compare the quality of an international range
of handmade bread and bakery wares.
The award ceremony as well as the presentation of the winning products
will take place at the “ÖBA/ÖKONDA-diegenuss“ in Wels on 25 April 2010
at 11.00 and will also include a documentary about the product
competition. The competition offers Austrian and foreign bakers a good
opportunity to show off the high quality of their products to an
international audience.
It also gives individual bakers the chance to display and capitalise on
the awards given to their bread products until the next competition. The
Federal Guild of Bakers therefore invites all European bakers to take
part in this major bread competition.
